YOUR CUSTOMER SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE AND YOU

PRT’s team of Customer Support Representatives has extensive experience in the silviculture industry, with a background in forest nursery management and field forestry. This experience, and access to PRT’s entire network of nurseries and services, allows for great customer service. Our Customer Support Group, consisting of seven Customer Support Representatives and two Customer Support Assistants, provides PRT customers with a primary point of contact for forest seedling needs. The PRT Customer Support Group will link with our grow teams at PRT nurseries to ensure clear communication of customer requirements and provide customers the information they need to make their best seedling decisions. In addition, direct contact between customers and nursery staff helps us understand customer needs. We have a team of Nursery Managers and Growers who are committed to ensuring that customers are well informed about their seedlings, and that we all understand customer needs and expectations. PRT believes this team approach will achieve the best in customer service. By providing great customer service, we create extra value for our customers.

Altogether a better approach.

PRT’s customer support services presently focus on the following key areas:

  • site visits, both prior to and after planting
  • cooperative field and/or nursery trials
  • workshops and seminars in the field, office, or at the nursery
  • information searches, collection and reviews
  • collection, analysis and interpretation of site physical and plantation data, including foliar tissue nutrient data

Successful plantation establishment begins with the selection of appropriate species and stock types, suited both morphologically and physiologically to particular planting spot conditions. Contact your Customer Support Representative to discuss the pros and cons of the various stock type and delivery options.

Some of our current projects include:

  • fertilization-at-time-of-planting using long-term, controlled release fertilizer incorporated into the plug at time of lifting (Nutri-plug® Plus)
  • stock type (e.g. Air Blocks) and time-of-planting trials
  • use of temperature recorders to monitor temperature from lift to plant, as well as record site air and soil temperatures
  • investigation into the use of newly developed microbial inoculants for conifers
  • determination of seedling physiological status through chlorophyll fluorescence measurement

Your Customer Support Representative is based out of a PRT nursery, facilitating quick field visits and a prompt response to customer needs. As well, the Customer Support Representative’s nursery base allows ready access to a wide array of stock types, and provides a good site for "farm" field tests, both short and long term.
