PRT Prince Albert is located in north central Saskatchewan, plant hardiness zone 2, near the city of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

The nursery is situated on 259 ha (640 acres). Annual production consists of approximately 13 million 1+0 greenhouse grown container seedlings. All commercial tree species planted in the northern boreal forest of Canada are grown at PRT Prince Albert.

2+0 stock types are offered by PRT Prince Albert through PRT's southern nurseries, Harrop at Nelson and Campbell River on Vancouver Island. Favourable climatic conditions at those PRT locations and consistent snow cover (Harrop) minimize overwintering risks and provide an ideal environment for the reliable production of 2+0 seedlings. These well-conditioned, robust and well-balanced seedlings are economical and provide high value, especially for sites that are subject to vegetative competition and/or snow press. They are typically used for summer and fall planting on very productive sites where moisture is not limiting, but can also be used for spring planting if grown in large containers.
